台灣的民航局已通過審查許可，准許復興航空（TransAsia Airways）籌設新的廉價航空公司。復興航空表示，準備期將有9個月到1l年，所以快則在2014年，台灣就將有現在世界流行的「廉價航空」了！媒體這麼說：
TransAsia Airways is the first Taiwanese carrier to set up a budget airline.（復興航空是第一個設立廉價航空公司的台灣航空業者。）
從這一句媒體報導中，我們可以看出「廉價航空公司」稱為budget airline。英語字彙budget最常用的字義是「預算」，它是國際職場與多益測驗的最基礎核心字彙，有幾個很常用的搭配使用法，你要能熟悉。例如，編列預算要用make a budget、在預算內要用within budget、經費拮据或是預算很少要用on a tight budget，形容詞要用tight（緊的）。
例句：
All departments are expected to make their own budgets for 2014.（所有的部門都應該編列好自己2014年的預算。）
So far the human resources expenses are more or less within budget.（迄今為止人事費用差不多都在預算內。）
They run this car show on a pretty tight budget.（他們用非常少的經費來辦這場車展會。）
budget除了指「預算」之外，它在國際職場上還有另外一個用法，是指「廉價的」或是「價格公道的」；但是要注意的是，它只放在名詞前面使用，用來修飾名詞。如果你的外國同事說：I bought this house at a budget price.，他可不是說以「預算內的價格」，而是他以低廉、便宜的價格買下這個房子。
例句：
When customers shop in our store, we only provide high quality products at budget prices.（當消費者在我們的店裡購物時，我們絕對提供的是價廉物美的商品。）
