湯恩樺說，要像畫中的斑馬一樣，不再回頭，專心向前。

「人生的道路只能往前走，不能回頭！」，遠東科技大學諮商輔導中心舉辦身心障礙學生藝術作品展，來自巴西、目前就讀進修學院企管系學生湯恩樺，罹患地中海貧血（領有殘障手冊、極重度），他畫了隻騎在車上的斑馬，拼命想回頭。
已經30歲的湯恩樺，曾在前年4月完成8天的自行車環島，畫下這幅創作。他說，「我要像隻斑馬，戴上眼罩，專心往前行」，回顧自己的生命歷程，從小他就知道自己生重病，每天要打針（6劑，一劑600元），二星期輸一次血（3袋，一袋1000元）。
原本在電信公司上班的父親，因為當年台灣還沒有健保，被龐大醫藥費壓的喘不過氣，探聽巴西有很好的健保制度，舉家移民巴西。可惜罹患同樣疾病的哥哥，在他二個月大時就隕歿。
12歲那年，湯恩樺重新回到台灣唸小學、國中，22歲結婚曾去巴西工作四年，又回台…，兩地飛來飛去，湯恩樺不諱言是為了治病。這時候的台灣已經有比巴西先進的骨髓移植技術及健保制度。
但很遺憾！配對成功，捐贈者卻臨時後悔。隨著年紀愈來愈長，現在身體已經會產生排斥，註定一輩子要與醫院為伍，每星期要去打針、輸血，而且身體愈來愈虛弱 ，找工作頻頻碰壁。
最初，以為是自己沒有大學文憑，選擇繼續進修，但工作一樣難找，湯恩樺在諮商輔導中心接受輔導，選擇接受自己，對人生有了更深的省悟。他說，自己的生命，其實是社會大眾的熱血與金錢所堆積出來的。
更要勇敢面對生命，像斑馬一樣往向前。今年，湯恩樺剛喜獲麟兒，勇敢的站在作品前，介紹自己精彩的生命故事。
遠東科大諮商輔導中心主任邱兆宏指出，上帝關了一扇門，必然為他開啟另一扇窗，希望藉由活動，讓更多師生接納、欣賞這群身心障礙學生，在藝術創作的才華，同時也鼓勵學生勇敢面對自己的生命。
