微軟將於紐西蘭10月18日凌晨12點，開放所有的Windows 8用戶下載Windows 8.1，而這個時間，就是台灣今天（17）晚上7:00！Windows 8用戶只要在 Windows市集裏就可以免費升級。

非Windows 8用戶若想使用Windows 8.1，必須從Windows.com取得更新檔，或是從零售店面購買Windows 8.1完整彩盒版，Windows 8.1標準版建議零售價NT$4,199元，Windows 8.1專業版NT$6,999元，台灣零售通路從18日正式開始上架。

Windows 8.1最受關注的改變，便是開始功能表再度回歸，用戶現在只要長按傳統桌面左下角的視窗圖示，便可叫出開始功能表。若是希望開機後直接進入傳統桌面，而非動態磚開始畫面，也可以從工作列與瀏覽內容視窗中設定，就可以有和舊版Windows類似的使用體驗。

在Windows 8中，畫面分割只能有兩個，而且一定得是80%和20%的比例，Windows 8.1開始可依螢幕解析度，最大提供到四個畫面分割，而且分割視窗的比例可由使用者自行拖拉決定。

操作介面上也變得比較人性，動態磚現在提供四種尺寸，編輯時可一次選取多個動態磚。從開始畫面由下往上拉，便可顯示應用程式介面，應用程式可依名稱、安裝日期、使用頻率、類別來分類。

App的部份，除了IE瀏覽器升級到IE 11外，也多了健康、說明+訣竅、閱讀清單、錄音機、美食、鬧鐘及Skype，共7個內建應用程式。

根據Akamai科技公司的報告，今年第2季，全球與駭客相關的網路流量中，來自印尼伺服器的流量占38%，高於第1季的21%。向來是駭客天堂的中國約占三分之一，排名第二。源自美國的流量占比雖然降至6.9%，仍排名第三。

判別網路攻擊來源集中於何處並不容易，因為駭客可以接管別國受害者的機器。儘管如此，印尼網路攻擊流量今年以前僅占不到1%，如今有這麼大幅度的攀升，確實不尋常。

Akamai發現，印尼第2季的網路連線平均速度較去年同期暴增125%。隨著印尼寬頻網路迅速發展，網路攻擊可能日益猖獗。Akamai在全球有龐大的機器網絡，來監控未經許可的網路傳輸。
