馬王政爭引發海外僑胞高度關注，駐美代表金溥聰美國時間6日表示，確實不少美國國會友人、智庫學者向他詢問此事，除了如實對相關情況做說明，他也認為台灣是個民主法治社會，所有政治問題都會依照民主法治方式來處理。
金溥聰與夫人周慧婷6日出席華府僑學界慶祝雙十國慶升旗典禮，現場約有上百位僑胞出席，大家人手一支青天白日滿地紅國旗，場面十分熱絡。
金溥聰會後受訪指出，國內政爭問題並未讓台美關係受到影響，不少僑胞與美國國會友人、智庫學者，確實都向他詢問過相關問題，他都會依真實情況做說明。他認為台灣是個民主法治社會，會依民主法治的方式來處理所有政治問題。
由於先前立法院質疑，金溥聰向華府提出的說帖，有越級報告的情形，此外部分說法也有爭議，因此不排除要求他回立院做專案報告，對此金溥聰也回應，若立法院有這樣要求，他當然樂意配合。
此外，對前副總統蕭萬長與美國國務卿凱瑞(John Kerry)會談，金溥聰也認為，這對台美關係外交推動有很大幫助。本次台美高層會面，與對方互動相當順利，整體安排非常圓滿，和美方訊息的傳遞也相當順利，沒有太多障礙。
我國APEC領袖代表蕭萬長6日下午和美國國務卿凱瑞(John Kerry)見面進行雙邊會談，討論增進雙方實質關係將採取的步驟。其中就貿易及投資自由化部分，蕭萬長在會談中表示，期盼雙方積極推動「台美貿易暨投資架構協定」(TIFA)下的相關協商，並優先推動洽簽「雙邊投資協定」(BIA)，逐步以堆積木方式朝向台美洽簽自由貿易協定邁進。
另外蕭萬長也特別向凱瑞提到，台灣希望能盡速參與「跨太平洋戰略經濟夥伴協議」(TPP)的意願。
