【綜合報導】英國西倫敦漢普頓中學18歲男學生梅波托夫特(Chris Mapletoft)，是學校的資優學生，成績優良，平常又是橄欖球校隊的明星球員，體格強壯長相俊秀，與家人一同住在推肯罕(Twickenham)。今年6月18日下午，在家中等候畢業成績的梅波托夫特，突然覺得身體不舒服，當天稍晚就猝死在家中，醫師初步判斷他是罹患了腦膜炎(meningitis)，但後來經過藥理反應的檢驗，確認他是因為吃了自己在網路上購買、含有「DNP」(2,4-二硝基苯酚)的減肥藥物而猝死。

事實上，在1930年代，含有DNP的減肥藥物在美國是被廣泛使用的，可以快速減少人體含有的脂肪量，但隨著產生副作用的報告不斷被提出，很快含有這種成分的藥物就從美國下架，世界各國也陸續禁止使用。在英國，早已被列為「極度危險」的減肥藥物，但仍在網路上可以輕易買到。梅波托夫特並不是這種藥物的單一受害者，英國10年內已經有16名年輕人因為使用這種藥物而死於非命，去年至今，梅波托夫特已經是第5個個案。

【綜合報導】西班牙經濟危機，也造成離婚難分產，一對申請離婚的夫妻，遭法官判定將同住的公寓分成2半，一人住一邊。

法官表示由於經濟考量和保障2名女兒的權益，裁定這對夫妻將房子隔成2半，這棟房子是屬於男方父母的，但由於離婚費用高昂，拍賣房子最後恐落得全家都得流落街頭，法官才做出這個決定，不過並沒有明指是要將房子實際對拆成2半，還是在室內用膠帶區隔。

當地律師也表示這個判決相當罕見，不過有了這個先例，未來可能還會出現類似判決。
