（中央社台北17日電）為了減肥，很多人可以不擇手段，美國愛阿華州1位想減肥想瘋的女性，就為了瘦身活吞絛蟲。這種蟲可長達10公尺。

「今日美國報」（USA Today）報導，這名女子的父母告訴醫生，她在網路上買了絛蟲後將牠生吞下肚。醫生致電愛阿華公共衛生當局，詢問如何處理，當局醫療主任昆里斯克醫生（Patrica Quinlisk）建議服藥抗蟲。

昆里斯克15日在發給全州公衛工作人員的每週電郵裡談到這起事件，她提到當事網站把絛蟲當做減肥工具販賣，並提出警告。

昆里斯克寫道：「消化絛蟲非常危險，可能導致各種負面副作用，偶爾甚至會致死。我建議想減肥的民眾實行現證明有效的減肥方法，就是攝取較少卡路里，增加體能活動。」

根據美國疾病管制暨預防中心（CDC），絛蟲是可以在動物和人類腸道內生存的寄生蟲，偶爾會隨著未經烹煮的肉被意外消化進肚。

有兩種絛蟲僅會引發輕微不適症狀，包括腹痛、沒食慾、胃部不適、拉肚子；但若受到豬肉絛蟲感染，可能導致癲癇發作，所以尋求治療非常重要。

根據科學研究，1條絛蟲無法吸收足夠的食物和營養，達到減重效果，但可能導致貧血和營養不良。

另一個問題是，絛蟲可以長到快10公尺，且擁有雌雄生殖器官。1名吃了1條絛蟲的女性可能每次去廁所都會排出一大串已受精的蟲卵。

昆里斯克說，約100年前，常有小販把絛蟲卵做成藥，當成減肥良方兜售。1020817
