who是主格, whom是受格
在句子中擔任主詞, 就用who;
在句子中擔任受詞, 就用whom.
不過, 現代美語已大大縮減了whom的使用; 在當受詞用時, 除了緊跟介係詞用
whom以外, 其他場合大多用who即可.
例如:
Who/Whom do you want to meet?
<---用Who或Whom都可以, 但句首用Whom很彆扭.
你想跟誰會面?
She is the person who/whom everybody is satisfied with.
<---who, whom皆可
= She is the person with whom everybody is satisfied.
<---只能用whom
她是大家都滿意的人.
