中元暗夜大火 南市一老翁喪命

中元節颱風夜，台南市北區發生民宅火警，位於北區佑民街一間加蓋的透天厝3樓，晚間九點多冒出火煙，由於受到譚美影響，風勢助長火勢迅速延燒三間，一名老翁受困火場，被救出時已無生命跡象。

消防局表示，位於起火點的民宅內有一名老翁受困，加上起火位置鄰近瓦斯行，警義消出動多個分隊全力灌救，經過一個多小時搶救控制火勢，消防人員搜尋火場，在起火處的四樓鐵皮屋加蓋屋內找到七旬老翁，但已無生命跡象，火警原因仍待進一步調查。
