由於二次戰後歐洲受創最嚴重，在物資缺乏情況下車廠所開發的引擎排氣量都不大，因此1960年代在歐洲車壇所流行的，是以當地造型和輕量化功力加上美國引擎，成為拉風且性能驚人的跑車，1965年誕生的GHIA 450SS就是最明顯例子。
