德國身為汽車產業的發源地，改裝市場自然也是相當興盛，其中埃森改裝車展更是歐洲地區一年一度的改裝車盛會；雖說改裝車大多數強調的都是性能的突破，不過安全的改裝，仍是各改裝廠家放在最優先的原則，而德國改裝車聯盟（Association of German Car Tuners，VDAT）自2005年就開始提倡Tune It！Safe！的概念，同時每年都會推出一款換上德國警方專用塗裝的改裝車。
