相信許多以機車作為通勤工具的讀者，都曾經聽過或遇過行經路邊停放的汽車時，面對汽車出乎意外的開啟車門，而讓機慢車騎士因而擦撞、或是差點擦撞的情形發生，每年全台約有高達一成車禍的肇事主因正是汽車駕駛人開車門時未注意後方來車，而發生令人意外的交通事故，而交通公路總局，也因應這樣的議題，於2013年7月1日起替汽車路考修訂、新增了幾項扣分標準。
