56e4022f275d3d8610ff83b0d2214755 早在 2013 年微軟就不斷預告 Windows XP 即將退役，提醒用戶盡快將系統升級至 Windows 7 和 Windows 8 系統，據 Net Market Share 的最新報告顯示，2014 年 1 月 Windows XP 市佔率不但沒有下跌，反而成長 0.25%，市佔率為 29.23%。

Net Market Share發表作業系統市場報告，據 web 流量數據統計顯示，2014 年 1 月微軟 Windows XP系統市佔率為 29.23%，高於 2013 年 12 月的 28.98%，Windows XP 距離退役的時間越來越近，市佔率不降反升對於微軟來說並不是什麼好消息，Net Market Share統計數據來自用戶使用率並不是系統安裝率，這表明仍有非常多的用戶未升級到最新版的作業系統，Windows XP 上市已有十多年，市佔率接近三成，超遠高於市佔率為 10% 的 Windows 8 系統。

微軟將在 2014 年 4 月停止對 Windows XP 系統的技術支援，在 2015 年7月之前微軟旗下安全軟體 MSE 將為 Windows XP 提供基礎的安全保護，在技術支援停止後，Windows XP 系統安全補丁和系統更新也會停止，系統更易感染病毒和遭到惡意攻擊。
