【於慶中／綜合外電報導】天主教教宗方濟各(Pope Francis)特別在聖誕節前夕，拜訪榮休教宗本篤十六世(Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI)，二人互送聖誕祝福。

教宗方濟各本周一(23日)，親自到本篤十六世住所探望，而本篤十六世在住所門外迎接，之後兩人一起到小教堂內祈禱。由梵蒂岡發放的電視片段可見，86歲的本篤十六世精神不錯，不過需要用拐杖協助。祈禱後二人在一間房進行私人交談，會面歷時約半小時。

本篤十六世是在今年2月28號宣佈，因為身體及精神上無法領導全球12億天主教徒，決定退位，是600年來首位的榮休教宗。這次是本篤十六世榮休後，第4次出現在媒體前，他的健康情況明顯較之前好。

在西北部的卡爾瓦多斯，周一(23日)傍晚狂風將一間正在整修的民宅屋頂吹起，造成牆壁倒塌，一名12歲男童死亡，另一名20歲工人受重傷。西岸城市布雷斯特外220公里海域，一名貨船工人墮海，由於天氣惡劣，搜索工作已經暫停。

法國國營鐵路公司表示，大風吹倒樹木，阻礙鐵路設施，西北部地區20多班次列車停駛。北部及西北部地區，部分渡輪航線也因天候不佳暫停。
