下了好幾天的豪大雨，在今(1)日下半天總算稍緩，不過，在1日晚間20時，輕度颱風玉兔(編號第 16 號，國際命名 YUTU)形成，不會影響台灣；另外，氣象局還是針對部分地區發布大雨特報。
玉兔在1日晚間20時，中心位置位於北緯 33.7 度，東經 176.9 度，以每小時7公里速度，向東北東進行。颱風中心氣壓 1004 百帕，近中心最大風速每秒 18 公尺，瞬間之最大陣風每秒 25 公尺，七級風半徑 100 公里。
氣象局也發布大雨特報指出，1日晚間至2日東半部地區仍有局部大雨發生的機率，連日降雨，山區請慎防坍方、落石及土石流，並請避免前往山區活動；低窪地區請慎防淹水。
氣象局說，1日受到鋒面通過的影響，天氣仍然相當不穩定，各地依然都有降雨的情形出現，其中雨量較多的地方出現在大台北地區及雲林嘉義一帶，部分地區累積雨量來到130毫米以上，達到豪雨的等級，不過下半天之後，各地降雨的情況陸續開始緩和下來；溫度方面，由於下雨加上鋒面後方東北風帶來的一些涼空氣，清晨中部以北低溫在22至23度左右，感覺上有些涼意，其他地區則在24至25度左右，而各地高溫約在26到28度。
2日鋒面離開，各地天氣狀況和今天相比明顯穩定許多，台灣附近轉為偏東北風的環境，因此在迎風面的基隆北海岸、東半部地區容易出現一些地形性的降雨，另外，由於南邊仍然還是有一些水氣存在，因此恆春半島也會有一些短暫陣雨出現；氣溫方面，受到東北風帶來一些涼空氣的關係，清晨低溫中部以北、東北部地區約在22度、23度，有些許涼意出現，其他地區則在24至25度左右，白天高溫則較今天有下雨的狀況略為回升，各地高溫約在28到30度。
特別要提醒大家，過去幾天各地降雨都相當多，土壤吸飽了水分、容易滑動，各地對降雨的承受能力降低，因此即使是較小的雨勢也有致災的風險，請大家仍不能輕忽，尤其在山區需堤防坍方、落石、土石流及溪水暴漲。
