(軍聞社記者陳映竹臺北一日電)總統馬英九先生今天視察臺鐵南迴線枋山二號隧道列車事故處理情形，除肯定國軍官兵及時救援的表現，並呼籲相關單位審慎檢討此次事故，建立完備防護措施。

　馬總統上午由國防部參謀總長高廣圻上將、交通部次長范植谷、經濟部水利署長楊偉甫、總統府副秘書長熊光華、屏東縣長曹啟鴻等人陪同下，前往自強號列車出軌事故地點，除瞭解列車失事原因及搶修完工期程，並慰勉現場協助救援的國軍官兵及臺鐵員工，為他們打氣加油。

　馬總統表示，此次發生事故的列車上恰巧有醫護人員，及時提供旅客必要協助，同時六十五名陸軍第八軍團官兵在第一時間趕赴事故現場救援，以及「臺灣高鐵公司」派遣廿八名員工支援救災，加上配合臺鐵局現有一百多名員工負責搶修工作，均殊值肯定。

　馬總統強調，儘管此次事故係天災造成，且極端氣候亦難以預測降雨時機及降雨量，國人仍須秉持「料敵從寬、禦敵從嚴」原則，以採取更完備防護措施，避免類似事件重演。

　此外，國軍第四作戰區上午也派遣近二百名兵力，以及中型戰術輪車、抽水機等五類廿二項車輛機具，分別前往臺南市龍崎、關廟、北門、新營區、高雄市六龜區、屏東縣林邊與枋山等地區，協助地方政府執行低漥地區抽水、物資搬運、沙包堆置、清理土石流及道路淤泥清除等災後復原作業，全力讓民眾生活重回常軌。
