全國各地陸續因降雨出現災情，馬總統今晚八點臨時趕赴經濟部水利署視察，行政院長江宜樺、經濟部長張家祝等內閣高層陪同總統聽取水利署、交通部、農委會等各部會簡報災情。

馬總統說，政府對南迴鐵路土石流等災情都已掌握，他臨時來水利署視察，並非出現重大災情，而是政府預測此次水情可能引發土石流等後續災情，在料敵從寬的原則下，他前來視察水利署，並提醒各部會、各縣市要高度警覺。

馬總統指出，本次水災已對全國蔬菜產量造成衝擊，農委會已緊急釋出蔬菜庫存。馬總統並提醒下周各級學校要開學，各部會與縣市政府要注意後續防災。

一項調查顯示，民眾對癲癇症兒童即伊比利斯兒誤解多，介意與伊比力斯兒一起運動的民眾中，有7成5民眾害怕伊比力斯兒會忽然發作，認為發作很可怕；甚至有2成5民眾認為伊比力斯兒會傳染。並有超過5成民眾認為，伊比力斯兒發作時，應該塞東西進入伊比力斯兒嘴巴，或應強行約束或壓制伊比力斯兒等錯誤觀念。

醫師建議，若遇到癲癇症患者發作，只要記住「發作協助2大口訣」，包含不要慌張地叫他、輕輕側放保護他，提供伊比力斯兒安全的發作環境，讓自然結束發作，陪伴他直到意識完全清醒後再離開即可，並不需要提供任何急救措施。因為一旦開始發作就無法阻止，而且症狀通常可以平靜的停止，除非發作時間持續5至10分鐘，就需要立即送醫。
