2013年6月25日，徐生明總教練成為中華職棒首位達成生涯700勝的總教練，也是史上最多勝教頭，完成了不可能的任務。
從職棒2年開始，徐總的職棒紀錄依舊驚人，1991年他帶領味全龍隊打下上半季冠軍，當年他的執教戰績為46勝、36敗、8和，勝率5成61。
味全龍隊一直都是中華職棒強隊代名詞，在徐總的帶領下，味全龍隊成績都不差，1998年(職棒9年)，徐總帶領味全龍隊打下隊史單季最多勝(56勝)記錄，隔年也完成3連霸的偉業。
台灣大聯盟時期，徐總任教年代雷公隊，現任Lamigo桃猿隊總教練洪一中也是他當時的球員之一，徐總在台灣大聯盟留下105勝、108敗，3和的戰績，無法幫雷公隊拿到隊史總冠軍。
雖然徐總曾在2004年-05年曾帶過中信鯨隊，不過都是敗多勝少，04年他拿到38勝、43敗、4和的戰績，05年他則是以47勝、49敗4和完成任務。
2008年興農戰績不佳，請徐總來調體質，他在2010年就馬上讓興農成為單季65勝、53敗的超級勁旅，也拿下上半季總冠軍，可惜最後輸給兄弟象隊，無緣拿到總冠軍。 (接下一頁)
