汽車停路邊被撞肇逃問題

如提~
我的車停在路邊~被一台送瓦斯的發財車不知道是迴轉還是轉彎時從車屁股撞上去~我的車屁股被撞爛了!因撞擊力大往前推撞前車屁股!
瓦斯貨車則當下肇事逃逸.
幸好當下有目擊者報警處裡,目擊者記錄下肇事貨車公司名稱以及車牌號碼

警察連絡我後也在目擊者提供資料後聯絡道該瓦斯行司機
(當然事後到案的我們也無法確定是否就是該司機還是頂罪的)

該名司機說他會幫我修復車子! 

現在有個疑問~我覺得該司機的態度反反覆覆,
想請問,如果最後該司機耍賴~我是否可以向警局備案~轉向該瓦斯行求償修繕費用~
因為目擊者只見到該瓦斯行的貨車肇事後逃逸~~
