代表民進黨參選台中市長的立委林佳龍，上午拜會民進黨主席蘇貞昌，雙方就中台灣輔選作業與佈局談論約1小時，達成中台灣「輔選五部曲」共識。

第一，1月15日中執會將通過提名林佳龍。第二，蘇貞昌會全力協助完成黨內整合工作。第三，春節期間，蘇貞昌將偕同林佳龍到大台中地區廟宇祈福拜年。第四，農曆年後，中央黨部將與林佳龍總部合辦台中市團結勝選餐會，營造勝選氣勢。第五，民進黨將籌設中台灣輔選總部，全力促成中、彰、投勝選。
